Superga is the ultimate sustainable shoe. Invented in the era before the invasion of plastic, it has always stayed true to its origins. For over a century the classic 2750 has been handmade with cotton, natural rubber and aluminium: this is the essence and the strength of our resistant and sustainable design. Our materials are both natural and recyclable.
With its first Organic Collection, Superga gave its classic styles an environmentally conscious makeover. Keeping every detail of the trainer the same as the original 2750 and 2490 styles, the silhouettes within the Organic Collection have been crafted using materials and methods that have a low impact on the environment.
The upper composition of the sneakers is a unique blend of 60% organic cotton and 40% natural hemp, while the eyelets and shoe laces are entirely made of organic cotton.
The insole of all the shoes is composed by a layer of natural cork, a simple yet extraordinary material. Among its other properties the cork is light, durable, impermeable and hypoallergenic.
The rubber from Superga®’s sole is natural and manually extracted from the rubber tree forests of Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand. The natural rubber is still processed with a traditional technique to guarantee high quality and elasticity standards.
